Mare Pregnancy Progression

Mare Pregnancy Script Mod: Automatic Broodmare Belly

A scripting mod that works with Heather's Broodmare Belly slider to make a pregnant mare's belly get progressively bigger during pregnancy and automatically go back to normal after she gives birth.

You must have Heather's excellent Broodmare Belly slider installed for this script to work!

Downloads:

Heather's Broodmare Belly slider

Pregnancy Progression Script: The 1.50 version should work with all later game patch versions. Note that these are package files and do not need to be unzipped.

Installation:

Install in the standard way Sims 3 package files are installed: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_3:Installing_Package_Files

Troubleshooting:

Please do not ask for help with my other mods here. Post in the threads for those mods wherever you downloaded them.

  1. FYI: Doesn't work for patch 1.50. Belly grows, but when it comes time to birth the foal, the mare is stuck in a loop.

    1. This mod does not affect the pregnancy itself and is probably not causing your problem.

    2. Do you have Nraas Story Progression in your game? Since Story Progression affects how pregnancy works, could that be the reason for the strange foal-disappearing-to-the-edge-of-town glitch?

    1. Fix what? If you're the one having problems with the mare giving birth, I don't know of any way this mod could do that. Something else is probably causing it.

    2. Nope, that was me. I moved on to other things when my comment disappeared before. I figured you removed it. Still had trouble with the mod but who knows what the problem is. Lots of mods won't play together nicely unfortunately.

  3. When I'm using this mod, the clock often freezes (but gameplay continues), resulting in a pregnancy that lasts 4-6 days. And during birth the foal ends up clear off the edge of the town and I end up having to reset the lot in order to get it by its mother. Removing the mod gets rid of these issues.

    1. I really don't know how this mod could have that effect. When I get time I'll see if there's some other way to do the belly effect.

  4. I just downloaded this and one of my mares got pregnant. Everything transitioned fine at first, but when she was giving birth, her foal was sent way beyond the borders of town and I had to teleport him back in order to get him. And she just kept standing there, neighing, with the giving birth symbol. I had to reset her in order to stop it. Than her belly didn't go back to normal and she didn't have a
'baby moodlet'. She also had no relationship with her newborn if that helps. Please fix because I so far really like this mod :) Thanks!

    1. Please see the answer above - I don't know how this mod could have that effect.

    2. I already saw it. After I removed this mod, my game worked normally, I put it back on and it did it again. I do not mean to sound rude in anyway, I think this is a really good mod, the only problem is that it isn't working.

    3. Yes, other people have had problems with this mod too, but at this time I have no way to fix it since none of the problems are happening in my game.

  5. Is there any chance this will be updated for the new patch?

    1. As far as I know it doesn't need an update. Are you having a problem with it?

    2. Same thing again. It goes to a page saying oops I don't belong here? Help?

  6. It doesn't seem that Heather's Broodmare Belly Slider works any longer. The link didn't work, at least.

    1. Heather must have moved the page - I've updated the link and it should work now.

  7. I have the same problem as those two. Mare got pregnant, everything was good. Then when mare gave birth, foal went somewhere beyond map and I had to reset them. I guess I'm lucky, because they still have relationship. This only just happened after I installed your mod, I took it off, everything was just fine. My second mare birthed just fine without.

I'm sorry if you think it couldn't be so, but it is...

    Or you just don't care.

    1. I'm sorry you're having this problem but since it doesn't happen in my game and there's nothing in the mod itself that could cause it in any obvious way, there's nothing I can do to fix or test it. Sometimes things just don't work in certain games or in combination with other mods. Frankly I have too much stress going on in my personal life right now to worry about it. If that's your definition of "you just don't care", fine. Don't use the mod.

  8. I'm sorry. Didn't really think when I wrote that, but the way you've answered those other didn't tell much and sounded like you didn't even try. Don't feel very good about what I said and I deserve it.

And, yeah. I'm not going to use this mod but use your other ones and they work perfectly. Thank you for answering this quickly, for explaining and for the mods you make. And sorry again.

    1. I'm sorry too that I let myself get angry and if I sounded dismissive before. No one likes telling people "I don't know what's wrong and can't help you." Also I get the most bizarre reports of problems for many of the mods in my blogs, none of which I can duplicate in my own game, and it gets frustrating, especially when people don't answer my questions or say anything more than "it doesn't work".

In your case, you could check for conflicts with other mods. Try playing with only this mod installed and see if you still have the problem. Seems unlikely since this mod has no interaction with the pregnancy except to read some values, but you never know.

  9. I've actually experienced this problem as well where everything goes fine and dandy until the birth. I know you said you can't do anything about it since you can't replicate it in your own game but I'm wondering if there's a particular popular mod or something in an expansion pack that could be causing the issue. I'm no coder so disregard any ignorance on my part.

    1. Update: As far as I can tell, there aren't any conflicts with any of the mods I have so that rules that option out at least.

    2. Sorry, but at this time I really have no idea. My best guess is that it has something to do with the amount of processing this mod does to check for pregnancies, which would not involve other mods.

    3. I think I might have figured something out. I know you said that it wouldn't conflict with other mods but by removing a mod that altered human pregnancies, I managed to fix the issue I was having with your mod. The mare doesn't lose her belly but that's something easily fixed in CAS. Considering what you said, would this be considered a fluke or am I on to something?

  10. Hi, i'm having a problem and i'm not sure if it's the new update on the mod but after re-downloading I am having a problem getting into create a household to edit sims..

    1. I haven't updated this in quite a while - did you get a different version when you re-downloaded? Anyway, I don't know of any way this could interfere with CAS. If you're using MasterController to get into CAS or CAP you can make sure you have the correct version of MC. Otherwise, all I can suggest is that you remove this mod.

  11. Could you maybe update the mod to work with patch 1.55? I would be willing to test it out

    1. From testing in my own game it doesn't need to be updated, but let me know if you have problems.

  12. Suggestion to those having problems...Make sure you test it without any other mods installed. Not sure if you tried it that way, but that's the only way to know if it is that mod specifically that it breaking your game.

  13. A great suggestion is to use Delphy's Dashboard to check and see if any of your files are conflicting. Read my post on there on page 70 of the All Comments tab,(myrandamiller91) to explain how to use it simply.

  14. People!
    BE PATIENT!
    The Mare WILL foal EVENTUAlLLY!

Just let her neight, and yes the foal will appear on the edge of the map, and she will consantly neight and stuff.
But LET her DO the thing!

Sooner or later, the foal will be born like they norrmally do.
And the belly will be gone when the foal is born.

Just Click the time to go faster, and trust me , the foal will be born.
    Just GIVE her TIME. :)
    (worked for me.. atleast)
